    Education and societal transformation

    Track partner

Equitable higher education for global progress

As the world approaches 2030, higher education faces a bigger question than how to improve today’s systems: what should it deliver beyond the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals?

Artificial intelligence, the green transition, demographic change and shifting work patterns are reshaping the skills and capabilities economies need to remain competitive and inclusive. This track explores how universities, governments and employers can build the talent and lifelong learning systems required for a post-2030 world.

From future skills and workforce transformation to gender equality, entrepreneurship, regional development and inclusive growth, the track asks: how can higher education shape societies that are more innovative, resilient and inclusive beyond 2030?

    Discussion topics

Our expert speakers and senior decision-makers in education and societal transformation will debate four big questions shaping the future.

    1. What should education deliver after 2030?

Moving from the SDGs towards the next generation of global development priorities.

    2. How can higher education power the future economy?

Connecting universities, skills, innovation, entrepreneurship and lifelong learning to economic transformation.

    3. Who benefits from the future economy?

Addressing gender equality, social mobility and unequal access to emerging opportunities.

    4. How do we make lifelong learning a reality?

Moving from education as a front-loaded experience to education as infrastructure for an entire lifetime.
